Hi, everyone, and welcome to the Q&A page. This is a space where you can ask any questions you may have about my books in the comments section, and I'll reply to you. I get so many fantastic questions in private messages, and I thought this might be a way to allow everyone to see questions and answers, in case they were wondering the same thing.
We can talk about characters, story arcs, predictions, you name it, for any of my books. Welcome aboard, and ask away. Anonymous comments have been enabled. :)
Do you think you will write Ghost and Maggie's beginning? Maybe how it all started with The Lean Dogs and him? How he met Adian's mom and then Maggie?
ReplyDeleteI definitely have the broad strokes of a plotline already laid out for that story. It would have a current storyline, and then take us back in time to see how Ghost as Mags met and became a couple. I don't plan on going through what happened with Ghost's first wife; we'll see the aftereffects, and how it's impacted him - the divorce - but we won't spend a lot of time on her. It will mostly be watching him as a young member of his uncle's club, and the drama of meeting Mags' family and dealing with their taboo relationship. I'd LIKE to write it all out. It would definitely be next year, though, looking at my current workload. And I have a fun idea for their present day storyline, so it's something I'm seriously thinking about :)
DeleteYay! I'm so excited for their story!
DeleteIs there any chance we can get more of Jasmine and Carter's story? I really loved reading about their relationship in Secondhand Smoke :)
ReplyDeleteAs of right now, I don't have any real plans to do a book about Carter. I have a few loose threads of a story in mind - it's a possibility, in other words - but there are lots more concrete stories kicking around in my head in the meantime. I'm also not really sure how anyone feels about Carter, individually, or with Jasmine. I'm always open to hearing what people like about the character and the pairing :)
DeleteWell I can't speak for everyone but I really like Carter and Jasmine. I like the age difference being flipped around and of course you write it so well. Thanks for the info! Can't wait for Loverboy!!!

DeleteI would like to read Carter's story too. And I like the age difference as well.
DeleteI'd like Carter's story... but I always saw him with Leah! I thought we would go that direction at some point - I'm not a huge fan of Jasmine+Carter, personally.
DeleteWhy was there little mentioned about Tonya having the pregnancy 'taken care of'? Considering how uninterested she was in the baby I thought she would do this.
ReplyDeleteA couple of reasons. Firstly, for plot reasons, if Aidan had wanted the baby and Tonya had wanted to have it "taken care of," that's a whole other legal battle, and one Aidan couldn't win. It would have been extremely messy. The other part is simply what I hope is a representation of reality. Some people choose to terminate the pregnancy in that situation, while others would choose the adoption route. I really didn't want to get into a conversation about either/or, but hoped that Tonya's decision was a realistic one - and I think it is, in some instances. :)
DeleteJust curious. I remember reading that you had a definite actor in mind that you pictured as Fox. I tried looking on your pinterest wall to see if you posted it on there but I didn't a character post for him. Who do you picture in your mind as Fox?
ReplyDeleteFox is directly inspired my James McAvoy. I like to think of Fox as the assassin you never saw coming, and he just fits the bill. Lol!
DeleteLove it!

ReplyDeleteSo I have all of the Dartmoor books, including the two books about the other Chapter. What should be the reading order? Should I read the other two books before Secondhand Smoke and Loverboy or after? Thanks. (FYI...I'm reading Secondhand Smoke now lol)
ReplyDeleteSo far, sounds like you've got the order right :) Snow In Texas and Tastes Like Candy should be read after Secondhand Smoke, but before Loverboy, although there's very little crossover between the two, so you should be fine either way.
DeleteHi, I'm a big fan of your books :)
DeleteI can't find the full reading order anywhere. I tried to go by publication date and hope this is the right order. Can you confirm? :)

3. Half My Blood (2015) - Dartmoor Series 2.5

Hi, yep, you've got the correct order! Publication date is always the best default, but I've been including the full list in the latest books. :)
DeleteThank you Lauren :) I must have missed the lists in the books as I jump directly to the first page to continue the story :D Love love love the series, thank you for writing them.
DeleteAre you planning on attending any book signing events sometime in the near future? I'd love to meet you!!!
ReplyDeleteI have several invites on the table, but at the moment I'm not scheduled to attend any events. I really love getting to meet readers, so I've been mulling over my options. Those big multi-author events are just that - big, and chaotic. I would love to host a smaller signing for fans where I could really take the time to answer questions and visit with everyone :)
DeleteAlthough both the Lean Dogs Series' are my favorites, I found Giselle's character from the Russell's series very interesting. I would love to read more on how she became involved with Sebastian Rolland and her relationship with Leo. Any plans?
ReplyDeleteOriginally, I intended to write a book about Giselle and Leo. But at the time, low reader interest and other projects led me to move on from that scenario. At this point, it's been so long, I'm not sure I'll ever get back to that.
DeleteI love the Dartmoor series! Thank you for keeping us connected to the characters. Hopefully you have a signing in or close to Philadelphia. My coworker and I would love to meet you :-)
ReplyDeleteI am currently (along with one of my blog partners and a few girls in our Book Club) reading Fearless and I LOVE it! It just a great story and the characters and plot progresses so smooth- I literally don't want to put it down.
ReplyDeleteMy question is, do you have a playlist for any of your books. I am a huge music junkie and so whenever a song is mentioned, I run to Spotify or online to listen to the song. I was hoping you had a playlist written down for Fearless (or the other books in the series too).
Thank you!
xoxo,
Stacia
Hi Stacia, I'm so glad you ladies are enjoying Fearless! Music plays a huge part in my story brainstorming, so most of my books have playlists. Some of the tracks from Fearless are:
Delete"Famous In a Small Town" - Miranda Lambert
"House of the Rising Sun" - Jypsi
"Nothing But the Water" - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
"Run This Town" - Jay Z
"What Do You Think About That" - Montgomery Gentry
"Stranglehold" - Ted Nugent
"The One That Got Away" - The Civil Wars
"Girl Is On My Mind" - The Black Keys
"Fine Line" - Little Big Town
"Landslide" - Dixie Chicks
"Diamond Eyes" - Shinedown
"Maintain the Pain" - Miranda Lambert
That's just the ones off the top of my head. This Friday is Fearless's two-year anniversary, so I'll be sharing more song pics and reminiscing about the book here and on other social media; also doing a big signed paperback giveaway, so be on the lookout for that! :)
Hi, I am having a hard time buying the eBook for 'Half my Blood'. Kobo only has book 1 and 2, and I don't have a Kindle (Amazon) or Nook (B&N). Also I have had no luck through GoodReads links...any other suggestions for purchasing your books?
ReplyDeleteI am rereading the entire series and just finished Snow in Texas. At the end it says Prodigal Son book 3 in the Lean Dogs Legacy series is coming soon. Do you have any update on their book?
ReplyDeleteI don't have any sort of update for that book, I'm afraid. Prodigal Son was never a solid idea. I'll be sure to let everyone know if I start working on it at some point.
DeleteAre you going to have any of your books done as audio books on Audible or is there someplace else to listen to them. I think they would be awesome to listen too as well as read. I have read all of yours to date and am anxiously awaitng Sons of Rome.
ReplyDeleteHey Lauren! I’m a huge fan of your fearless series and completely adore all of your books. I can’t wait to get my hands on White Wolf at Christmas! Was just wondering what your plans are for your Dartmoor books going forward? Was there going to be a Fox book? I just don’t want this series to end :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren, I did promise books for Fox, among others, so I do plan on getting around to them at some point. I've even written about eight chapters of Fox's book. I feel like Dartmoor and the Legacy series left off on positive notes, places where I can leave them for the time being. I'm honestly more than a little burned out on that series and everything it entails, and feeling like all the *interesting* stories have been told. I don't like to tread over the same ground, and I think Dartmoor books going forward would just be more of what we've already had. I DO have plans of returning to the series, but working on it right now is like pulling teeth. Sorry I don't have better news on that front, but I really hope you'll enjoy White Wolf when you get to it :)
DeleteI would love to get a signed book some how for a dear friend who is a huge fan of yours. Would that be possible?
ReplyDeleteHello just wondering if any of your books were going to be available for audio or on audible.com
ReplyDeleteHello - just wondering if you are planning on giving Roman/Kris a story?
ReplyDeleteHi, no I'm not planning on a Kris/Roman book. I started one, wasn't happy with it, and ultimately ended up losing the entire file thanks to a glitchy flash drive. So! That was a bit of fate. I've stopped all work on Dartmoor and don't know if I'll return to it in future. You can see this post for more info as to why: https://hoofprintpress.blogspot.com/2021/03/the-long-game-of-flowers-foxes-and.html
DeleteBy the way....Ghost is Ian McShane, circa Deadwood! I love this series!
ReplyDeleteHi! I’m new to your work and couldn’t be more happy reading book 2 of the amazing Drake Chronicles ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteReally, I’m loving it so far. I love the fact that the story has multiple POVs and that the love stories are sexual diverse. I wanted to ask you, would there be any other non heterosexual relationships on the series? (Maybe this is too much a spoiler theme to answer ). Also, I don’t know why, but I have my hopes that Ragnar isn’t such a villain as he seems to be (I’m only %20 of book 2)
I really want to to start reading your other work. Does any of your other books has non MF love stories too?
Lots of love, I’m so happy with the drake books ❤️
Hi, thank you so much for your message! I'm thrilled you're enjoying the Drakes - I'm having the best time writing them. I won't give anything away about Ragnar - everyone has to wait and see! - but I can say that there will be at least one other non-M/F romance, and I'm thinking more than that, even. Nali is gay, for one. As far as my other work goes - my Sons of Rome series has a central M/M couple, though it's very slow burn and takes up 'til book four before it's realized. (Spoiler alert: in book one, a bi character has a relationship with a woman, but ends up marrying his male best friend, by book four). It's also building a M/M/M relationship with three other characters. It's vampires and werewolves, so the erotic overtones are frequent and fluid.
DeleteI've also got a dystopian series (currently working on the third in the trilogy) Hell Theory, that is M/F building toward an M/M/F ot3 in the final book, and which has a side M/M pairing who have their own novella, "Mystic Wonderful."
Hope that helps! Thanks for reading :)
Do you think you'll write another Walking Wounded book?
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren, I am a big fan of your Drake chronicles series. And I am anxiously waiting for that third book. Have you decided on a releasing date yet?
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren!!! Gosh, I think I first started reading the Dartmoor series back in 2016/2017 and it's always stuck with me! I was curious if there was anywhere I could purchase signed copies of my favorite books? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI followed all of your work on FanFiction.Net but all but 2 of your stories are able for reading now. How does one go about reading all of your fanfiction stories?
ReplyDeleteAre you ever going to let your books be read as audible books? Please and thank you!
